We are an open-pollinated/non-hybrid vegetable, herb and flower seed company specializing in heirloom, certified organic, and traditional Southern Appalachia varieties. Based in Asheville, North Carolina, we seek to promote and foster community sustainability by helping to preserve our shared botanical heritage and seed a new era of sustainable culture and ecological wisdom.

Sow True Seed exclusively offers open-pollinated/non-hybrid and untreated seed. When saved and replanted, open-pollinated seed reproduces true to the original plant’s characteristics. Untreated seeds means that none of our seeds are coated with fungicides or chemicals of any kind. We grow and source a broad selection of traditional and adapted varieties from quality selective breeders, regional growers, small scale producers, and independently owned wholesale-suppliers.
